The ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI)

is the highest level of ASHI membership. This level is the only third-party certification within the home inspection profession, certified by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

The ACI program has met the stringent standards set by the credentialing community and recognizes the individuals who attain this professional excellence. After completing the previous requirements and passing the National Home Inspector Exam (the NHIE is a mandatory requirement for this level), members must complete 250 fee-paid inspections that have been verified to comply with the ASHI Standard of Practice. ASHI Certified Inspectors are leaders within the industry and drive the association forward.

This earner has been part of the ASHI community, has undergone a background check and is part of the Background Verified Inspector program. This badge recipient has met the requirements to move up to the ASHI Certified Inspector level.

InterNACHI® Mentor must:

  • be an InterNACHI® member in good standing;
  • be an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector CPI®;
  • have been performing home inspections for at least three years;
  • be in compliance with InterNACHI®'s Continuing Education Policy;
  • agree to assist other InterNACHI® members on a volunteer basis with guidance and informal instruction, including academic assistance, reviewing inspection reports, checking and evaluating assignments, offering instructional feedback, and modeling scholarly and professional behavior; and
  • agree to assist InterNACHI® staff when needed, particularly when an InterNACHI® member or student has a question related to performing inspections, training, certification, business, and marketing.
